It is not a pentimento on behalf of the artist, but simply an artwork that no longer exists.
During those years, artworks had a precarious duration: if I had in mind a new project and I did not have new material available, I would recycle that of pieces already completed. The irony of it is that roughly forty years later I had to grapple with the theme “last supper”. All that remains is a photograph as testimony to my first last supper.
