Still today it is said that a whale lives in Lake Como but that it is never seen because it blends in with the reflections of the water. The whale has its own secret and solitary life and shares its time between the waters of the lake and those of the ancient sea which once occupied this region: the only visible trace, here in this artwork, is its tale that sticks straight out of the water.
